Mark Small, CPA

Managing Director - Dallas Area Markets

Mark entered his 26th year in the Financial Advisory and Wealth Management business by merging his practice with Cowtown Financial in April of 2024. His Dallas-centric business has grown to include clients in 15 states. A planning-based approach supports his individual, family and small-business clients who are looking to both grow and preserve assets, from those who are building and accumulating, to families and businesses who see a finish line approaching. His practice also includes implementation and management of business retirement plans.

Prior to moving into the financial advisory arena Mark spent 13 years as a tax professional in Arthur Andersen’s Dallas office, where he eventually served as the national director of the firm’s Publicly Traded Partnership program. This came after earning his BBA and Masters in Tax from The University of Texas in Austin.

Mark is Texas-born and spent most of his days somewhere along the I-35 corridor. From his time as a Killeen Kangaroo, then hopping south on I-35 to Austin for 5 ½ years, he really ventured out when he packed his powder blue leisure suit and moved to Dallas to begin his career with Arthur Andersen.

Mark and Julie, his wife of nearly 27 years, have two daughters.  The family is very supportive of children’s cancer charities and support groups such as Heroes for Children.  Mark serves on the Investment Committee of the King of Glory Lutheran Church Foundation, which encourages member gifting as a key part of legacy and estate planning. Off the clock endeavors include playing and watching sports (is Pickle Ball an Olympic sport yet?), listening to music, writing, and  traveling to new and well-worn places.
